WHEEL THROWING
You’ll learn traditional wheel-throwing techniques using tools such as the hera for shaping and the kana for trimming.
We start with simple forms like rice bowls and small plates to build precision and rhythm.
PAINTING
You’ll practice underglaze porcelain painting, using traditional brushes such as the dami for filling and fine brushes for line work.
We begin with classic motifs inspired by Hasami’s long painting tradition, then guide you toward developing your own designs and compositions.
EXCURSION
You’ll join guided tours that take you behind the scenes of Hasami’s ceramic culture — visiting local manufacturers, studios, and the Kyushu Ceramic Museum.
We also share recommendations for places to explore on your own during the weekends.
